The bitter gourd looks like a cucumber but with gourd-like bumps all over it. As the name suggests, this vegetable is bitter in taste.  The seeds of this vegetable are white when unripe and red when ripe. It is one of the best vegetables that has medicinal properties to cure ailments. Bitter gourd juice can treat blood disorders, cholera (if used in early stages of the disease), lowers blood sugar levels, improves stamina, improves eyesight and cleanses liver

    Produces vines that grow 13 to 16 feet long, young & tender fruit grow 4 to 6 inches long

  • Location. Fertile, well-drained, consistently moist soil
  • Growing in the ground/containers. Site seedlings in a spot with light shade, as long as vines can ramble into full-sun areas
  • Temperature. Plant thrives in heat and humidity
